How do I upload photos as a guest?

How do I save the event to my phone's home screen?

How do I leave a message in the guestbook?
**Leave a Note or a Voice Message**
If the host has turned the guestbook on, you can leave them a personal message right from the upload page.

3) Type a written note, or record a voice message with your phone's microphone (whichever the host has enabled)
4) Send it - the host will see it in their dashboard
**Reading Other Guests' Messages**
If the host shares the guestbook with guests, a "Guestbook" option appears in the upload page menu (☰). Tap it to read notes and listen to voice messages from everyone else.

• Your browser may ask for microphone permission the first time you record - tap Allow

How do I like photos in the album?

When the host lets guests view the album, you can like your favourite photos and videos.

1) Open the album (tap "View Album" on the upload page)
2) Tap the heart on any photo or video
3) Tap it again to remove your like
The like count updates instantly, and the host can see which moments everyone loved most.
**Why Is the Heart Not Working?**
Likes are linked to your name. If you haven't entered your name on this event yet, add it on the upload page first, then come back to the album.
Can I delete photos I've uploaded?
**It Depends on the Host's Settings**
Hosts decide whether guests can remove their own uploads.
**If the Host Allows It**
When "Guests Delete Their Own Uploads" is turned on, you can remove photos, videos and messages you added yourself from the album, using the same device and name you uploaded with.
**If the Host Doesn't Allow It**
Only the host and event admins can remove content. This protects the album from accidental deletions.
**Uploaded Something by Mistake?**
1) Contact the host directly and explain what happened
2) Describe the photo (when you uploaded it and what it shows)
3) The host can delete it from their dashboard in seconds
Do I need an internet connection to upload?

• Decide whether other guests can read and hear them

Troubleshooting
The QR code isn't working. What should I do?
**Try These Steps**
1) Make sure you have the right QR code (check at https://eventoly.com/en/dashboard) and scan it with your phone's camera app
2) Make sure there is good lighting on the QR code
3) Hold your phone steady about 6-8 inches from the code
4) Check that you have an internet connection
5) If it still doesn't work, use the shareable link instead
**Camera Not Recognizing the Code?**
• iPhone: Settings → Camera → Scan QR Codes (turn ON)
• Android: usually enabled by default
**Backup Solution**
Ask the host for the direct link and tap it instead. Works exactly the same way!
Contact support if issues persist.
I can't see the photos other guests uploaded
This could be because:
1) The host has turned off "Guests See Photos & Videos"
2) The host approves uploads first, and new photos are still waiting for approval
3) Your page needs a refresh - try reloading
4) There's a temporary connection issue - check your internet
Hosts can change these options in Settings on their dashboard.
I can't find "Leave a Message" or the guestbook
**For Guests**
• "Leave a Message" only appears when the host has turned on written notes or voice messages
• The "Guestbook" menu link only appears when the host shares messages with guests and lets guests view the album
• Once the host's upload window ends, new messages can't be added
**For Hosts**
• Check Settings → Guestbook for your event
• If the toggles are locked, your event is on Starter - upgrade to Standard or Pro to unlock the guestbook
I forgot my login details
No worries — we don't use passwords. Simply sign in with Google or request a magic link using the same email you used to create or purchase your event, or the email the event was gifted to. When contacting support, please also provide your event name and event date so we can help you faster.
Privacy & Security
Who can see my photos?
Only people with your unique event QR code or link can reach your event. You control whether guests can view each other's uploads, hear voice messages and read notes through your event settings, and you can approve uploads before they appear. No one outside your invited guests can access your event.
What happens to my photos after the storage period ends?
When your plan's storage period ends (6 months on Starter, 1 year on Standard, 2 years on Pro, counted from your event date), your photos, videos and guestbook messages are permanently deleted from our servers. We strongly recommend downloading your complete album well before then.
What happens to the email I enter for a reminder?
We use it only to send you that one email with the upload link. You will not be added to any marketing lists, and we don't share it with the host or anyone else.
Can I delete my event and all data?
Yes, as the event host, you can delete your event and all associated data at any time from your dashboard. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All photos, videos, messages and event data will be removed from our servers.
Do you sell or share my data?
Never. We do not sell, share, or use your photos, videos or messages for any purpose. Your memories are yours alone. We take privacy seriously.
